When Love Feels Unsafe (And What That Has to Do With Your Abundance)
Today I moved through something big. The kind of thing that doesn't look dramatic from the outside, yet inside it felt like the earth quietly shifted beneath my feet.
It began with a conflict with my mum — one of those moments where someone else's emotional outburst lands on you, even though you haven't actually done anything wrong.
For most of the day, I carried it like a weight in my chest. My mind tried to make sense of it, but the truth is, it wasn't just about today. It was about something much older.
Because when your mother is the person you're most wired to for survival, any sign of withdrawal, reactivity, or instability becomes a threat. As babies we aren't thinking, "Mum's having a moment." We're thinking, "Am I safe?"
So even as adults, when someone we love becomes upset with us — fairly or not — the body remembers.
My inner little girl showed up fast. She froze. She panicked. She wanted to shut down to stay safe.
But something different happened this time. I didn't abandon her. I didn't shame her. I didn't tell her to be quiet.
I stayed. I held her hand. And something inside me rewired.
It hit me that this fear — this old wound of feeling unlovable — has never really been about love. It's been about safety.
The belief "I'm unlovable" is just the surface layer. Underneath is the body whispering: "It wasn't safe to open before. Be careful."
And here's the wildest part… Love and money run on the same frequency. The same openness. The same worthiness. The same safety to receive.
Which means when you're calling in more abundance — more opportunities, more clients, more money, more ease — your heart often gets tested.
Not to punish you. But to calibrate you. To ask, "Can you receive more without collapsing into old patterns?"
Recently, I've been manifesting more money. More flow. More "holy shit, this is actually happening." And then — boom — this emotional trigger landed in my lap.
Not random. Not unlucky. A divine invitation.
"Open your heart even here." Open your heart even when the old wound whispers don't. Open your heart when it feels safer to shut down.
Because when the child in you believes:
- •love is unpredictable
- •love might disappear
- •safety depends on pleasing others
- •abandonment is always around the corner
…then receiving anything — love, support, abundance — feels dangerous.
Old patterns rush in:
- •shutting down
- •apologising for things that aren't yours
- •shrinking
- •people-pleasing
- •self-abandoning
- •outsourcing emotional safety to someone else's reactions
But today, something shifted.
I realised: I'm not that little girl anymore. I don't have to collapse inside someone else's chaos. I can stay open. I can stay centred. I can hold myself.
And the moment I breathed into my body and whispered, "You're safe now," everything changed.
A new version of me emerged — one who doesn't make herself small to stay loved. One who doesn't negotiate her worth based on someone else's mood. One who knows abundance flows through an open heart, not a guarded one.
This is the version I'm stepping into now:
- ✨Where self-abandonment is a distant memory
- ✨Where pleasing others is no longer my survival strategy
- ✨Where emotional outsourcing ends
- ✨Where opening my heart feels safe, not terrifying
- ✨Where my lovability isn't conditional — it's inherent
And then the message came through crystal clear:
When you heal the places where love felt unsafe, you heal the places where abundance gets blocked.
When you open your heart, money flows. When you stay grounded in your worth, love expands.
Your heart and bank account are more connected than you think — not in a fluffy manifestation way, but in a deep nervous-system, inner-child, soul-truth kind of way.
Because when you feel safe to receive, life gives you more to receive.
Today was a portal. A calibration. A quiet initiation into a new way of being.
The universe asked, "Are you ready to move differently now?" And I said yes.
If you're nodding along… maybe you're being invited into the same.
